Waitakere Ranges to Auckland, New Zealand

This is almost as high as you can go now as the rocks are a bit unstable further up (a sign stops you about 25m further up the track). This carving is called a pou and tells the story of a Te Kawerau a Maki ancestress, Ngati Tangiaro Taua, who loved this spot. It is still quite steep so to avoid tumbling down the cliff it is best to sit on the stone seat for a rest and to enjoy the views.
